Mr. Daniel Barr

Daniel C. Barr is a partner in the Phoenix office of Perkins Coie, a law firm with offices in 17 cities, including Beijing and Shanghai. For 25 years, Mr. Barr has represented newspapers, broadcasters and online journalists involving a wide variety of issues, including libel, privacy, intellectual property and access to governmental information. Mr. Barr has served as an Adjunct Professor at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and before going to law school, he was a reporter at The Arizona Republic from 1980 to 1982. He is the author of the Arizona Reporter’s Handbook on Media Law (6th ed), Tapping Officials’ Secrets — The Door to Open Government in Arizona (The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press) and the Surveys of Arizona Libel Law and Arizona Employment Libel Law (Media Law Resource Center).
